Kidney Dialysis (Haemodialysis) in Faridabad

Haemodialysis which is a sub-type of kidney dialysis is further divided into 3 types:

• Nocturnal Haemodialysis - As the name suggests, nocturnal haemodialysis is performed when the patient is sleeping at night. This is done for 6 nights a week. Since the procedure is performed at night, patient gets more time to relax. Also, his day schedule does not get affected thanks to nocturnal haemodialysis.
• Conventional Haemodialysis - It is a traditional way of conducting dialysis. It is performed thrice a week and the procedure entails connecting of a dialyzer to the patient's body through which blood is extracted. When the extracted blood is filtered by the dialyzer, it is injected back into the body of the patient.
• Daily Hemodialysis - One of the biggest advantage of daily dialysis is that the procedure is performed in the comfort zone of your own house and is conducted 6 days a week.

When you are put on dialysis procedure, make sure you modify your diet as certain foods interfere with dialysis process. Following is the list of do's and don'ts with regards to your diet:

• Salt intake - Salt intake should be reduced as it will lead to fluctuation of weight during dialysis.
• Protein intake - Make sure that you include 8-10 ounces of protein in your daily diet plan.
• Carbohydrate intake - There are no restrictions on intake of carbohydrates in your diet unless you want to lose weight.
