Haemodialysis which is a sub-type of kidney dialysis is further divided into 3 types:
- Nocturnal Haemodialysis - As the name suggests, nocturnal haemodialysis is performed when the patient is sleeping at night. This is done for 6 nights a week. Since the procedure is performed at night, patient gets more time to relax. Also, his day schedule does not get affected thanks to nocturnal haemodialysis.
- Conventional Haemodialysis - It is a traditional way of conducting dialysis. It is performed thrice a week and the procedure entails connecting of a dialyzer to the patient's body through which blood is extracted.
